Masterbatch production

In the production of masterbatches, the definition of the most appropriate feeding layout is fundamental and the decision to be made is influenced by investment choices, the type of pigment and the desired quality.

Extrusion lines for masterbatch

Raw materials discontinuous pre-mixing

The discontinuous premixing of raw materials is configured as a solution to reduce engineering costs and produce different formulations on a single plant.

Raw materials continuous pre-mixing

The continuous premixing of raw materials uses a single feeding point on the extruder and is recommended for producing large quantities of material with a limited number of formulations, maintaining the quality of batch mixing.

Raw materials separate feeding

The separate feeding of raw materials – although more expensive – proves to be more advantageous in terms of productivity and flexibility of the extruder and – in some cases – also of quality. Ideal in case of exclusive use of the plant for the production of a single or restricted class of products.
