Maris Technology Center has developed an innovative process for the recycling of foam (and non-foam) cross-linked polymers from post-industrial material, while allowing the recovery of processing waste and their reinstatement into the same production cycle.
For the recycling of crosslinked foam polymers and the reconversion into a plastic polymer, it is necessary to break crosslinks among chains as much selectively as possible, while avoiding the polymer degradation. The physical characteristics and the very low bulk density of this material make it necessary to use a forced feeder to facilitate the introduction of the material inside the extruder.
